It's pretty simple, really. The Mrs really enjoys driving in a convertible, but for me, i'll only get a Convertible if it's really nice to drive. And then i realized that there's no such thing as E63 AMG Cabriolet. Why?

For me the E-Cabrio looks quite okay, and with V8 power it'll be even better. Plus since it's a cabrio, you could hear the engine noise better. Why this is not a thing AMG?

I know. But you know, sometimes you need 557hp for some special occasion, like, buying some milk?

Yeah.

And that makes it interesting, for BMW/Audi, since i don't really think they have a competitor for E-class Coupe/Cabrio..

Yeah. E-Coupes are pretty common in here too, although mostly are the lowly E250 but it's still an E-Coupe..

Plus in my mind, E-Coupe would make better AMG. Because coupe.

I was going to say I guess they only do hard top convertibles with the SLK55 and the SL63, but the SLS had a soft top... I guess they just can't make an AMG variant of every normal Benz chassis?

Yeah, so does the SLR.

Sort of. Maybe they think E-Coupe/Cabrio is just not mad enough.

I think it's because the C coupe took the place of the CLK, which was basically an E coupe/cabrio. There would be too much crossover having two AMG models that were so similar. At least that's my best guess.

You could try to find an older CLK63 cabrio. Or get a tune for the E550.

That's valid point.

I wonder how many difference between the CLK63's engine and the E63's engine from the same generation..

Well the CLK only used the m156 naturally aspirated 6.3. The E used that engine up until '11 or '12 (don't remember off the top of my head (long day, almost bedtime, brain fart)), then switched to the twin turbo m157 which it still uses. The current E550 cabrio uses the m278 which is the non-AMG version of the m157 and can be tuned to over 500hp with little trouble.
